Programs to Support Every Stage of Family Life

At the Grande Prairie Family Education Society (GPFES), our programs are designed to meet families where they are—providing practical, compassionate support from pregnancy to adulthood. Whether you’re preparing for a new baby, navigating parenting challenges, seeking youth support, or facing complex family transitions, we’re here to help support with free, evidence-based programs.

Programs

Healthy Families

A voluntary home visitation program for expectant parents and families with children aged 0–6. Our support workers come directly to your home to offer guidance, tools, and encouragement for confident, nurturing parenting.

Parent Education

Parenting programs and workshops that empower caregivers with strategies for every stage—from early childhood to teen years. Interactive, education parent/child programs are also available.

FASD Family & Youth Support

Support for FASD Family, Youth and Adults impacted by Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder. Includes the PCAP mentorship program, family and caregiver coaching, and life skills development for youth and adults—no diagnosis required to access support. Diagnosed or suspected are welcome to access supports.

Child & Youth Programming

Prevention-focused programs that help kids and teens build empathy, resilience, and social skills. Signature programs include Roots of Empathy, The Empathy Project, and Rainbows peer support for loss, grief and big life changes

Life Skills & Learning Support

Helping adults develop the literacy and life skills needed for independence and confidence. Programs include reading and writing development, one-on-one learner support, and group sessions on time management, budgeting, and communication.

Divorce and Separation Support

Guidance and resources to help families navigate separation with less conflict and more resilience. Services include workshops, courses, tools and one on one support to lessen the toxic stress and negative impacts on children.

How to Access Our Programs

All programs are free and accessible through the referral process. Anyone can refer themselves, a family member, or a client.
