Life Skills and Learning Support for Adults

Overview

Our Life Skills and Learning Support programs help adults build foundational literacy, personal development, and lifelong learning skills. Whether you’re returning to learning, building independence, or seeking support to navigate life more confidently, we’re here to help—with both group programs and one-on-one mentorship.

Skills for Learning

Skills for Learning is a 10-session group program designed to help adults build confidence and engage in ongoing education. Sessions focus on practical topics like time management, budgeting, goal planning, learning strategies, and effective communication. The group setting fosters support and motivation as you strengthen the skills you need to succeed. Fees may apply.

Learner Support Services

Available by appointment, Learner Support Services connect participants with a Literacy Mentor for personalized guidance. Support includes navigating upgrading or post-secondary options, accessing community resources, filling out forms or applications, and using basic technology. If you need help figuring out your next step, this is a great place to start.

Reading, Writing & Document Use

This 8-session group program helps adults develop essential reading and writing skills. You'll learn how to interpret and create written sentences, understand charts and tables, and improve document use for both personal and workplace needs. This program is not intended for ESL learners. Fees may apply.
