Child & Youth Programming for Social and Emotional Growth

Our Child & Youth Programming delivers early intervention and prevention-focused services designed to help children and teens grow into emotionally healthy and socially competent individuals. Through interactive programs, peer groups, and school-based learning, we help build the confidence, emotional regulation, and relationship skills kids need to thrive.

Program Focus Areas

These programs support youth from ages 5 to 17 by emphasizing social development, empathy, and peer interaction. We foster a safe space for learning and sharing, where young people develop the social competencies essential for healthy friendships and community involvement.

Roots of Empathy

Roots of Empathy is a globally recognized, school-based program that brings a baby and parent into the classroom throughout the school year. This volunteer-driven initiative teaches children about emotions, nurturing, and perspective-taking—helping to reduce aggression and foster emotional literacy among students.

The Empathy Project

The Empathy Project is a community-based group program that helps children and youth build empathy, peer support, and relationship skills. Offered in age-specific groups for youth ages 5–17, the program includes six sessions focused on emotional development and social understanding in a group setting.

Rainbows

Rainbows is a fun, interactive, and age-appropriate group program that supports children and youth experiencing Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). Whether a child is coping with the death of a loved one, separation, illness, incarceration, or other significant life changes, Rainbows provides a safe space to explore emotions and build resilience.

Participants gain tools, knowledge, and coping skills to navigate grief, stress, and change. Through guided peer discussions and activities, they learn to practice self-care, express feelings in healthy ways, and discover they are not alone in their journey.

How It Helps

Our child and youth programs are designed to promote resilience, emotional regulation, and positive peer relationships. Whether through structured classroom sessions or group-based learning, these programs give young people the tools to navigate social challenges with empathy, awareness, and confidence.
